Where is it?
Ivy Chimney Cottage is set in an idyllic spot within a World Heritage Mining area, surrounded by lush, rolling countryside and remnants of Cornwall’s mining past. Located near the quaint hamlet of Wheal Rose, you’ll find yourself just a short drive from the villages of Porthtowan, Blackwater, and Mount Hawke. A ten minute walk takes you to an eleven mile historical trail, once featured on the BBC's "Railway Walks with Julia Bradbury," perfect for exploring the area's rich history and stunning scenery. If you fancy a woodland walk that follows a bubbling brook, Parc Shady is an excellent little gem, located close by.
The cottage is a great gateway to Cornish culture, with the famous Roddas Clotted Cream nearby and Porthtowan Beach just a short drive away for sun-soaked days by the sea. There are two fabulous eateries to choose from in Porthtowan, The Unicorn and The Blue Bar, both serving up some exceptional food! Fancy a shopping trip? The historic cathedral city of Truro is only fifteen minutes by car.
